Special Moves & Combos

Only available via a weapon that has a weapon specialisation attached to it. The attacker is putting everything into the attack and gives up the defence phase of the attack. Each type of special move gives a modifier and that is the multiplier for the attack and for the damage if successful.

Combinations

You are allowed to combine the Parry special move with any other move except for backstab. Don't forget that the parry reduces your power score by 20.

Special Moves

Backstab

The back stab special move is only available to an attacker who has successful sneaked up on a victim. It requires the that the victim has a back bone for starters. The attacker sneaks up on the victim and inserts the dagger between the third and fourth vertebra. If the attacker delivers more than 1/2 of the victims health in the single blow then the victim will have to make a cool roll minus 50 or will pass out (chance of victim making a noise is 100 - attack power score).

The skill is only available to classes that have access to it. Of these classes only Thieves are allowed to increase the multiplier. All other classes that have access to this have a x2 multiplier. The reason that Thieves have the extra multiplier is that a Guild master has taught the thief the knowledge of where the best strike position on most races and creatures.

Bash

An attacker can use a blunt weapon and do a bash at full damage or use the heal of a sword or other weapon in which case the damage is quartered.

Cleave

Cleaving is the act of slashing with a weapon, biting into the body of the victim. there is a -30 strength roll to extract the sword after a cleave as

Lunge

Lunging is the act of extending your self to cover more distance thus allowing you to effectively move your blade an extra arms length towards and hopefully through the victim. There is a strength roll required after the lunge to extract the weapon from the body of the victim of -40.

Parry

The parry special move is where you allow the person you are attacking to attack first then you attempt to parry their attack. Firstly your skill has an extra -20 power score as you are required to time it perfectly.

Strike

The strike special move is designed for use when calling a shot (location not sublocation) so you need to use the Called Shot table to select the location you are going for.
